Q. What is Autorota
A.
Autorota is staff scheduling software designed to automate the complex task of creating
weekly rotas/rosters and assigning roles and working hours to your staff.
Q. Can Autorota allocate shifts automatically?
A.
Yes. This is one of the main features of Autorota, for each weekly Assignment (shift) you
can specify a variety of 'Auto Allocate Rules' which define how you would like Autorota
to allocate to your personnel.
Q. What about when people are on Vacation?
A.
Autorota has a built in Year Planner for each member of personnel, so standard days such
Vacation, Day Off, National Holidays can be entered in advance.
When the rota for each week is created Autorota will check the Year Planner and automatically
fill in the details for anyone who is unavailable. When Auto Allocating assignments Autorota will
work around anyone who is unavailabe due to vacation etc.
Q. How can I change the start day of the week to Saturday or Sunday?
A.
You can do this through Autorota Configuration. Go into 'Application Options' then 'Rota Options', then
choose which day of the week you would like the start day to be.
Q. How can I rota a sequence of shifts over several week to the same person/people?
A.
You can do this by using the Assignment 'Rules'. By setting the rule to only allocate THIS
assignment if previous assignment = xxxxx you can effectively set up a series of assignments
that will be allocated in a particular order.
Q. Are there any plans for additional Rota Layouts?
A.
Yes. Version 2 of Autorota introduced a few new layout options. We are looking at serveral additonal
layouts (e.g. Monthly View, Per Person View) for version 3.
